Kenneth A. Blanton, 78, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2017 at his home.
Ken was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas W. Blanton; his parents, Roma and Mary Blanton; 2 sisters, Wanda Lukeas and Frances Sharp; 5 brothers, Paul, Jim, Gerald, Charlie, and Bob Blanton. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Christina Flaherty Blanton; 3 children, Kevin (Debbie), Lori (Stuart) and Bryan Blanton; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Martha Brooks (Jerry); 3 brothers, Ronnie Blanton (Kathy), David Blanton (Denise), and...

Blanton; his parents, Roma and Mary Blanton; 2 sisters, Wanda Lukeas and Frances Sharp; 5 brothers, Paul, Jim, Gerald, Charlie, and Bob Blanton. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Christina Flaherty Blanton; 3 children, Kevin (Debbie), Lori (Stuart) and Bryan Blanton; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Martha Brooks (Jerry); 3 brothers, Ronnie Blanton (Kathy), David Blanton (Denise), and Larry Blanton (Karen); and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Ken never met a stranger.
Ken retired from the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant in 1988, and worked for a number of years as a driver for Dignity Memorial funeral homes. His favorite pastimes included playing Texas Holdem, watching old westerns, doing magic tricks, playing Yahtzee, and spending time with family.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy, followed by burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Friday.
